Transmission Services Overview
Molinare Broadcast MCR now has 3G HD-SDI Facility Lines to BT Tower IMC, giving access to all major digital, terrestrial and satellite distribution platforms for point-to-point delivery or broadcaster contribution paths. Global satellite downlinks can easily be accomodated with our rooftop downlink antennas.
Live digitising direct to edit storage and transcoding is readily available using our wide range of complimentary transmission services. These also include the extensively appointed VTR area and DI facility where ingest or deliverables can be handled for all standard formats – be it down the line, FTP or tape.
Tour de France:
For almost a decade Molinare have completed the live daily transmissions of the Tour de France, and in 2011 transmitted for the first time in HD to ITV4 and ITV4HD, broadcasting all the best action from the biggest event in the international cycling calendar.
During the course of the 23 days of programming Molinare transmitted over 80 hours of live footage, with the programmes consisting of a daily 150 minute live transmission followed by a daily highlights show. The satellite feeds were downloaded from the Molinare rooftop, relayed to a gallery on our mezzanine floor where commentary was mixed and graphics added, and then presented to ITV4 and ITV4HD from MCR. The facility was purpose-built this year, incorporating the mezzanine floor wiring, a new machine room and a rebuilt HD MCR.
