Synopsis:
The Hour was a critically-acclaimed six part drama in 2011 which led viewers behind the scenes of a ground-breaking topical news programme in 1956. It told the story of a competitive, sharp-witted and passionate love triangle through the lives of enigmatic Bel and rivals, Freddie and Hector.
Series 2 hits BBC Two in November 2012, and is set a year after The Hour was unceremoniously taken off the air. Freddie has been fired and has gone travelling, while Bel (having fought for her job) becomes increasingly preoccupied with chasing a story about London’s criminal underworld. Hector has become a national celebrity and is fully intent on living the high life, while Bel tries to keep him in line – for both their jobs sakes.
Technical Details:
Molinare provided full post production and some VFX on both Series 1 and 2 of The Hour. Our creatives’ outstanding work on Series 1 was recognised by the industry, with Gareth Spensley was nominated for an RTS award for his grade, and Molinare’s audio team being nominated for a BAFTA for their efforts too (comprising Nigel Squibbs as Dubbing Mixer, Marc Lawes as FX Editor and Jamie Caple as Dialogue Editor).
